LEAVES
In my experience I've worked on many metal sculptures.
I've always admired this massive tough material.
In the "Leaves" project the material itself took me in an interesting direction. My end goal was creating various textures and other surface effects. The overall volume form is simplified and geometrized. The purpose of the fragmentation is to show that the compositions are only fragments, only quotes of nature. In my interpretations I want to illustrate the process, not to imitate nature exactly. By oxidation and rust I let the form change and develop in time. This way the attention is pointed at the idea that:
"Nature never stops in its movement and punishes any inactivity"
